Psalms 119: 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The Psalmist is righteous. He loves God's commands. He lives with enemies who don't follow the Lord, but his life and safety are placed in God's hands. In his letters today, John feels the same way.
I have always heard this verse, but it never resonated with me. Why put a lamp on your feet? Now I see that it is like a flashlight that guides your steps. You can see the best way to go. It's illuminating God's will.
Prayer: Guide me to Your will. Your scripture and the voice of the Holy Spirit show me the path to righteousness. I want to follow that path to a peaceful and meaningful life.
