Exodus 4:
13 But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”

God has shown Moses the burning bush, He has turned Moses's staff into a snake and back again.  He has withered his hand like leprosy and cured it.  He has promised more to the Egyptians since they won't let His people go.  And Moses, so very human, asks Him to send someone else to do the talking, b/c he stutters.

I feel like Moses.  I know that I am limited in large part by what I believe I cannot do.  I see God's wonders, I enjoy all His blessings, and then I doubt the person He made (me).  I know God is powerful, I believe that He can work miracles, and I am not sure I can follow His lead.  I am weak.

Prayer:  Lord, strengthen me so that Your will for me will be done.  Keep Satan from me, don't allow him to torment me with doubts of my own worthiness.  You have chosen me for Your awesome gift of faith; now strengthen my resolve so that I may achieve all You have planned for me.
Amen

  1. A similar prayer 2 years later, but inspired by a totally different verse.
