Luke 7: 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”
Jesus is speaking to the widow of Nain. Her only son has died, and they are carrying his body away. Jesus feels for her in her grief and loneliness.
How powerful this image is for me! I know that Jesus has done the same for me and for those I love. He is always ready when we are down, no matter what the reason. He wants us to turn to him for comfort.
Prayer: Lord, I am so glad to know You are there when I am sad. I praise Your faithfulness to those who hurt. I reach out to You when I am down, and You are always there for me.
