Psalm 10: 14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless.
The afflicted are grieving. The victims and the fatherless need help. God is so available to them. They know that they cannot make it on their own. They are blessed in their need for faith.
Today's reading include Zaccheus, Palm Sunday and the driving out of the money-changers, and Joseph ruling during the famine and the death of his father. A greatest hits of Scripture! I chose this Psalm verse however, b/c it spoke to me. I am concerned about the fatherless, the victims, and the afflicted. I am comforted that God considers and helps them. I know He is always there for me too, even when my troubles are so minor compared to the troubles of so many. He sees it all, and He is ready whenever we are ready to call out to Him.
Prayer: Lord, be with those who need You. Listen to their call and answer. Open their ears that they may hear all You have to offer. Open my ears as well, so that I may represent You well in my day-to-day life. Let me know when I have comfort and aid to give Your people.
Amen
I considered this verse a year later, and I ultimately chose another from the same Psalm with the same message. A great thought both times.
