Luke 11: 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Jesus has just given us The Lord's Prayer.  Along with the reassurance above, he tells a number of examples to reinforce the idea.  The idea of a parent who give his child a snake instead of a fish is there--ridiculous!  God is so available to those who try to find Him.

Where does all our time go?  We are so busy, and yet what do we have to show for our days?  Can we find the time to ask, to seek, to knock on God's door?  For many of us the final answer is no.  We find the time for our favorite tv show or video game.  We find the time to keep house.  There just aren't enough minutes in the day to devote any to God.  I pledge to always find the time for God.  I will continue to keep this journal and to pray.  I will try to squeeze in a group Bible study time when I can.  I will go to worship regularly.

Prayer:  Lord, I am asking for Your guidance.  I seek the truth You alone have for me.  I knock at the door to Your royal kingdom, and I long to spend eternity with You.
Amen

  1. Again I chose the same verse a year later. The take away lesson is different however.
