Romans 8: 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.”
Paul is rather hard to understand in these chapters at times. He even seems condescending in some verses. But sin is a tough topic, and he is trying to explain it to people far away. I guess he doesn't want to miss out on any point that came to his mind.
Verse 15 is encouraging. The Spirit is within us; even though we are weak, we are still God's chosen children. We can call out to our Father whenever we are in need or even to praise His goodness. And Abba listens. He comforts. He rejoices with us. We never have to fear being alone again.
Prayer: I praise you, God, for Your constant presence in my life. I know You are there for me 24-7. My fear is gone; I do not need to worry. You are my Father, and I am Your child for eternity. Please help me to feel Your presence every day, in everything I do and say.
Amen
Again I chose the same verse from a huge body of Scripture one year later.
