Dec. 2, 2013

Romans 10:   If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Simple enough, isn't it?  You have to believe, and you can't be afraid to speak your belief.

And yet, it is hard.  Belief is not always easy, especially in a world of doubters.  They wear away at you, and you wonder if you are the fool they imagine you to be.

Speaking about your faith can be tough too. There are restrictions on my speech at work, the main place I talk to people.  There is the off-putting factor, where you don't want to come on too strong when your best path is to be a good example.  You don't want to push people away from Christ by a perception of self-righteousness.

So, the answer is, as always, to listen to the still, small voice of God in deciding when to speak and what to say in a given situation.  And the answer to a weakness of faith is to go to the Source, and tell God that you are weak and need strengthening.

Prayer-- Lord, strengthen my belief.  Stand by me in my weakest moments, and help me to feel Your presence with me.  Guide my speech, Lord, so that I may glorify You with my words.  Help me to guide others to the comfort of faith in You.
Amen
