2 Corinthians 12:  14 Now I am ready to visit you for the third time, and I will not be a burden to you, because what I want is not your possessions but you. After all, children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.

Paul is telling the church about his past behavior to prepare them for a future visit. He tells them that he is not perfect, but that he is as good as any apostle.  He cites examples of his behavior.

These words rang so true to me as a parent.  I try not to be a burden to my children, but I really want to spend time with them.  I go out of my way to spend time with my mother, doing whatever she wants to do.  My mother tries to lift my financial burden a bit, and I do the same for them.  It is not the things that I want, it is the quality time.

Prayer:  Lord, I am so blessed to be able to spend time with my mother and my children.  They and Ron are my #1 priority in this world.  I want to be  a good role model for my kids so that they will see how to treat their parents, and I love to have the time to just relax with my family.  Thank you for making that possible in my life.
Amen
