2 Corinthians 10: 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
The verse which precedes this one states that we fight with weapons unlike those elsewhere in the world. Paul is fighting against criticism in Corinth. Some don't like his looks. Some say he isn't as impressive in person as his letters are.
I am impressed by the thought that Christians use different means to demolish arguments against them. We can focus our thoughts on Christ and Christ-like actions. We can move past judgments based on appearances and false presumptions. We can harness the power of Christ to guide our thoughts and our deeds.
Prayer: Lord, I am focusing my thoughts on You and Your son who died for me. I have power from You that is different from the power granted by the world. By searching my life through a Christ filter, I can build a life that is better than any I could set up by myself. Thank you for Your holy guidance.
