Mark 12:  30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Jesus is being tested with questions all around.  There was the one about the woman who married 7 times.  Who would be her husband in the afterlife? There was this one about the greatest commandments.  This is #1, and #2 is "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Loving God is #1--with my heart, my soul, my mind, and my strength.  My heart and soul are good, I think.  I know that God is the superior being in every way.  My heart and soul buy into that.  My mind wanders.  My strength wanes.  It is so easy to be distracted by life and sapped by all of the demands on my time.  Putting God first is never easy, but it is the most important thing I do.

Prayer:  Lord, strengthen my mind, so that I might do You justice in my daily life.  Let You be the first thing on my mind, in times of trouble and times of praise and thanksgiving.  Be with me to guide and lead me.
