Mark 10:  52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

This is blind Bartimaeus. He has been calling out to Jesus as he passed by.  Others were telling him to stop but he wouldn't be quiet.  Jesus called for him and asked what he wanted.  He wanted to see.  This is in contrast to the wealthy young man who wouldn't leave all that he owned to follow Jesus, prompting the "camel through the eye of the needle" remark.

Surely blind Bartimaeus had other things to do.  He probably wanted to tell loved ones about his healing; he may have even wanted some revenge against those who were cruel to a handicapped man.  Instead, his faith healed him and drove him to follow Jesus down the road.  Nothing was more important to him.  I would like to have that kind of faith.

Prayer: O, Lord, I need your healing so many times.  I am sick, I am worried, or I am overwhelmed.  Instead of following you, I wander off.  I look for help elsewhere.  Please guide Your unfaithful servant back to the comfort of Your peace.
Amen
