Psalm 69: 30 I will praise God’s name in song
and glorify him with thanksgiving.
David is drowning. He needs God, and he needs Him now! His enemies mock and despise him. But his faith remains strong. David will praise God and ask for His help. He knows that the ending will be good. The people of God will live with blessings in the Promised Land.
It isn't easy for me to read the stories of the taking of the Promised Land. They are so violent, and so many people die in the melee. Even innocent animals are killed, as the slate is wiped clean for the people to occupy their new homes. I searched for a positive message, and I love this thought. In the midst of the violence, I see a man standing in worship, praising His faithful God in song.
Prayer: Lord, I, too, will sing songs of praise to You. I do not always understand Your holy will, but someday I will stand by Your side and all will become clear to me. In the meantime, I know all that You are to me, and I am thankful. "My God is an awesome God; He reigns from heaven above..."
Amen
