Acts 23: 11 That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.”
Paul went to Jerusalem, even though everyone warned him not to go. There he has been held prisoner, and he has been removed from the group for his own safety. His nephew has heard of the plot to kill him the next day, and he will be sent away, just as the Lord told him.
Paul leads a life of trouble for the Lord's sake. He is educated and smart, so he represents God well in diverse places. God truly used Paul's witness to change the nature of the early church.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be Your witness. Guide my words and actions to glorify You. I praise those who came before me paved the way with their own witness.
Amen
