Acts 17: 24  "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else."

I needed 2 verses to complete the thought. Paul is talking to those logical Athenians.  They have been worshipping the mythological gods, and he is explaining the nature of the one true God.

I especially like the part about not being served by human hands. God doesn't need us, He wants us. Sometimes I get discouraged about human nature, even my own failures loom large, and I feel alienated from other people, but I always find God available. Guess that's just one part of the "everything else"He provides.

Prayer:  I am right here, O Lord. I know you don't need my service, but I want to provide it anyway. I'm committed to becoming closer to You. You are awesome and all-knowing. I want to praise Your mighty kingdom for eternity.
Amen
