Daniel 3: 18. "But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego speak to the king like this! They have been favored, put in charge by the Babylonians who enslave them. The king has been told that they won't worship his giant golden idol. They won't, and they let the king know that in no uncertain terms. He has them thrown into the fiery furnace, but they survive, thanks to the one true God.
I just love the absolute commitment of these men. Even if God didn't save them, they still want the king to know that they serve someone more powerful. They will not compromise on something this important. I want that kind of strong faith!
Prayer: Lord, strengthen my faith. I want every prayer, every thought, every action or word to be what You would want for me. Be with me every second.
