6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Humility has been on my mind. I have asked my mother to be humble, and I have discussed humility with my daughter. Pride is one of the 7 deadly sins, and yet we value pride too. Humility seems to be underrated in our society.
If we are not humble, says Peter, then God won't lift us up. It is so easy to become proud--to be sure you have found the answers on your own. God asks us not to do that, but to remember where our strength comes from.
Prayer: Lord, help me to remain humble. I want to acknowledge you in all I do. I am powerless without your strength. Let me deal with You and with my fellow man in a humble way so that You may be the one who lifts me up.
