Psalm 115
1 Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
This seemed a good follow-up to yesterday's verse. We do not deserve the glory--there is nothing we have done or will do that can equal God's glory.
God has been loving and faithful since the Garden of Eden. People, on the other hand, prove themselves to be unfaithful every day. The people of God turn their backs on his graciousness; they rely on their own acts and ignore God's goodness.
Prayer: Praise to you, my Lord, for your steadfast love which follows all your people throughout our lives. I am so grateful that instead of giving up on your creation, you gave us your son to redeem our sinful, selfish ways.
Amen
