1 Peter 2: 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
Think how hard this must have been. He knew he was blameless; yet he made no threats of retaliation. This acceptance of God's will was absolute.
Now this is not me. I get angry when I am insulted, and I am hurt. I think all kinds of retaliatory thoughts. I am too big a chicken to threaten anyone, but the intent is there. I do not accept that judgment is the Lord's--I want a piece of the action.
Prayer: Lord, guide me toward the kind of obedience Your son showed. Help me to rid myself of judgmental thoughts. Guide me to accept Your will as mine.
Amen
