The Sadducees try to trick Jesus with a story of a woman who married many times to brothers. They ask who will be her husband in heaven. Jesus says people in heaven aren't married at all.He offers Moses's prayer at the burning bush as further proof that there is life after death.
I sometimes get aggravated with people who announce the death of a loved one by announcing that heaven got a new angel. No, people don't turn into angels. But here Jesus says that they are LIKE angels. I like to think about Jo, Mother and Daddy and all the others I loved in heaven like angels.
Prayer: I am still grieving, Lord, and I need comforting images to keep me from descending into sadness and anxiety. Be with me. Remind me that my loved ones are safe with you, and that we will have a great reunion someday.
