Luke 13: 32 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’
The Pharisees told Jesus that Herod was trying to kill him. This is his reply. He follows that with the promise that he would die in Jerusalem. The reference to the third day surely refers to the Resurrection.
It's a verse I never really noticed before. I am a bit surprised at the name-calling. This is not the meek and mild Jesus. This is the confident, take-charge Jesus. He knows why he is there and exactly what he is doing.
Prayer: I am grateful for the promise Jesus kept when he gave his life for us. I know that I could never be worthy of the glory to come. Your grace and mercy lead me to life for eternity in Your kingdom. Thanks be to God.
Amen
