John 6: 29 Jesus said, “Throw your lot in with the One that God has sent. That kind of a commitment gets you in on God’s works.”
It's the day after the feeding of the 5000. Jesus didn't go with his disciples on the boat, but in the morning he was gone. The crowd piled into boats, and they found Jesus on the other side. He had walked on the water to get there. He told them that they weren't hungry for the word of God but for more free food. He explained how that's not what is important. Commitment to a life of faith is what matters.
It's amazing to me to read how Jesus saw his mission. He was there to get the faith established in a way that would last until the end of time. Those of us who commit to follow him will be part of God's eternal plan. We follow God's will, and that secures our place in eternity. Wow. What a commitment it is. And what a payoff awaits!
Prayer: I throw my life in with You, Lord. I know that You have all the answers. I choose to follow Your plan for me. You are the Almighty. I'm blessed that You chose me for a life of faith.
Amen
