Acts 10: 43. "All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
This is from a story about Cornelius. He was a believer and a Roman centurion. An angel appeared to him and told him to send for Peter. As the messengers approached, Peter had a vision which told him that he should not consider anything God made as unclean. So Peter was made ready to go to Cornelius and to accept him and the other Gentiles as brothers in Christ.
This really is a pivotal story. Peter, the rock on which Christ's church is built, becomes accepting of the people he has been told to avoid his whole life. If not for that, where would the church be today? We were blessed by the faith of those early Christians.
Prayer: Thanks, Lord, for all of the people of faith in the past who brought us to an awareness of Your mighty power. And thanks, too, for the gift of faith You gave to me personally. I love You.
Amen
