Romans 13: 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Paul is telling about the expected behavior of the church. We are to honor and respect authority. We are also expected to eliminate debt, except for that most important debt--we owe it to others to love them.
On the first day of the last month of my teaching career, I contemplate loving my neighbor. If I act in love, I have done everything I could do to be more Christlike. Simple and yet very complex and deep...how can I love my neighbor better? What steps would make me a more loving human?
Prayer: Lord, let me become more loving of those I meet. As I slow down in my level of stress and responsibility, help me to ratchet up the level of loving kindness in my thoughts and deeds. I long to be more in touch with Your will for my life.
Amen
Same verse in 2015!
