Psalm 24: 8   Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord strong and mighty,
    the Lord mighty in battle.

The Psalmist reminds us that all of the Earth was created by God.  He asks who is worthy to come before someone so powerful.  The answer is the man who honors God and follows His commands.  He tells the city to open its gates to its mighty King.

I began to sing these words as I read them.  Isn't it wonderful how words of Scripture become an indelible part of our memory through song?  The music that accompanies the words is strong and powerful too.  It helps us to get the whole feeling the Psalmist intended to convey.

Prayer:  O, Lord, so mighty and strong, You have created all the universe.  You rule over us and everything in nature.  And yet You are also the God who loves all His children, even the least powerful and the most wayward.  We are blessed to know You and Your love.   I praise You and all You do for Your people.
Amen
