Job 29:  14

I put on righteousness as my clothing;
    justice was my robe and my turban.

This is part of Job's final defense. He describes his former standing within the community. People listened when he spoke. The needy knew that he would be there for them. Now he has lost everything.

Job had the worst happen to him. He has nothing, not even his health. But he remembers how it used to be. He doesn't blame God for what he has lost, although he doesn't understand how this misfortune all came upon him. God knew Job's heart, just as He knows mine, and Job proved God was right. I only wish that I could speak as certainly about my own goodness.

Prayer:  Lord, let me stand before You as confidently as Job did. Guide my actions so that I may know that I have been righteous and just.
Help me to become a better servant for You.
Amen
