Mark 9:  37 “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”

Jesus has a lot to say about children in today's reading. He is tender and mild, like we like him to be. But he's also tough on demons, casting out the ones that disciples couldn't, and he is holy, at the Transfiguration and in preparation for the crucifixion.

I'm still seeing the world through the view at The Shack, having read it for the fifth time. God is very real to me right now. And it's the Jesus on the dock, with nothing but love for all creation, that comes through this verse. His oneness with the Father is also evident. I'm so blessed to be a person of faith.

Prayer:  Lord, You are always with me. You guide and protect me. I'm in awe of Your power, but I am most moved by Your love for Your people. Help me to see You in everyone I meet.
Amen
