He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
David is coming to the end of his life. It's necessary for him to rise from his comfortable bed to deal with the threat that the wrong son succeeds him as king. He made it plain that Solomon was chosen by God. I like to think that this is some advice he offered his son. God is available to everyone as He was to David.
The promise is real. God is there for us. He will answer our call and comfort us. He will deliver us and honor our faithfulness. We people of faith are unbelievably blessed.
Prayer: Lord, I want to feel Your presence with me. I know that You are are always there for me. I trust in Your goodness and mercy. Guide my steps to bring me closer to You.
Amen
