Micah 4: 4 Everyone will sit under their own vine
and under their own fig tree,
and no one will make them afraid,
for the Lord Almighty has spoken.
The next prophet starts like the rest..with the promise of destruction of the unfaithful. In Chapter 4, however, he tells of brighter days to come. The"swords beaten into plowshares" is a more familiar quote. Unfortunately the people must be exiled to Babylon before the lame and exiled ones can be redeemed.
I like sitting under my own vine or tree. I can visualize this, relaxing without fear, knowing God is in charge. All is right in the world. I look forward to this day, prophesied so long ago.
Prayer: Lord, I am anticipating a better time to come for myself and all your people. I look forward to the time when your will is truly done. I relish the thought of a life without fear. Praise be to God who made us and will ultimately redeem us.
Amen
