Hebrews 1: 3. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Paul begins his letter to the Jews by explaining how Jesus is related to God. He is the son, superior even to the angels. He has eliminated the need for prophets who meditate between God and the people. His role was to save humanity, and then he would return to his father to rule with Him.

This is a summary of the story of Christianity reduced to its most basic elements. Jesus came to show us what God is like. Then he suffered for us and saved us. Then he returned to his father. We have a powerful advocate in Jesus. He represents us to all of heaven. How could he have been all that and still just a man?

Prayer: I believe in Your only son, my Lord. I am incredibly blessed to have been given the gift of faith. I look forward to the day we meet in Your house. I lean on You now to guide my days on Earth to Your glory.
Amen
