2 Timothy 2:  24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

This is a good thought as we go to see my brother's family in Daytona Beach tomorrow.  There have been quarrels, and what is needed now is kindness without resentment.

It is easy to wallow in resentment.  It is easy to justify why your side is the right one.  It is not so easy to be kind in the face of one who disagrees with you.  We must follow God's will and do the hard thing--we must serve Him even if it goes against our natural inclinations.

Prayer:  Lord, guide me toward kindness, even in the face of my own resentment.  Let me rise above the quarrels of the past and serve you faithfully.
Amen

  1. Interesting that I choose the same verse in 2016 to talk about the other side of the family. Now things are good on both sides, and I feel very blessed.
