Philippians 3:  14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Paul is in prison, and he has had plenty of time to reflect on his faith. He warns the reader that there are enemies of Christ out there. They satisfy themselves, but they are missing out. They think that they have achieved glory, but they will know shame. As for us, we must stop dwelling on the past, and we need to move towards a life that is more in tune with our beliefs.

It's a time of change in my life. I lost my mother, and she helped to build the faith I have today. My daughter has moved far away, and my son is engaged, with a life to come that will be less directed by his interactions with me. On the other hand, my husband is restored to health, and we look forward to many years together. In this time of change, it's good to know that my faith is firm, and that I can strengthen it.

Prayer:  Lord, I am weak, but I desire to strengthen my faith. I will attempt to move closer to You with each passing day. I will focus on You, and I will be more aware of my failings. I will try to become all You know that I can be.
Amen
