The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
David wrote this Psalm. At first he cried for mercy and asked not to be taken away with the evil ones. They speak kindly but harbor malice in their hearts. Finally he calls out his praise for God.
I'm surprised at the definition of the evil ones. They speak kindly, but they have bad intent. That seems pretty mild, but God knows their hearts. David's heart is good. He trusts God. God takes care of him.
Prayer: Lord, I need to trust You more. I need to hand over all my resentment. I'm trusting You to handle other people. You know their hearts. Help me to keep my heart pure.
Amen
