Luke 21: 34 Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
Jesus is talking about the second coming. He has painted a picture of upheaval and suffering. The real take away, however, is the words of warning to the faithful.
This would be so easy. We get caught up in the day to day life, we get knocked down by events around us, and we console ourselves in so many ways. We are not faithful people who turn to our Lord and Saviour.
Prayer: Lord, be with me. Make me more aware of Your presence in my life every day and every night. Help me to always be ready to meet You wherever I am.
