Galatians 4: . 9 But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces[d]? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
Paul is puzzled by the previous behavior of the Galatians. They welcomed a sick Paul and treated him so well. Now they have been distracted by a competing group. He tells them that they were saved by faith. Where is that faith now?
I felt this verse. I especially like the "are known by God" part. We are in a relationship with God that is everything in our lives. But "weak and miserable" forces pull us away from the purity of our faith. We find ourselves enslaved, instead of empowered.
Prayer: Empower my faith, Lord. Strengthen me in my daily life. Comfort me in my sorrow. Rejoice with me at the triumphs of those I love.
