Matthew 28: 7 “Now, get on your way quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He is risen from the dead. He is going on ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there.’ That’s the message.”
The two Mary's are at the tomb. An angel descends from heaven and tells them Jesus has risen, just as he said he would. Later they will meet Jesus himself. Then he will meet everyone in Galilee to send them to do his work, founding the church.
The women must have been in shock. They are mourning, beaten down by the events of the crucifixion. Then everything changes! The angel...the empty tomb...Jesus himself! What a great day for them, and for eternity!
Prayer: Thanks be to God, for He has surely provided for our salvation through the death and resurrection of His only son! Our lives are forever changed b/c of this! Praise God!
