Luke 18:  17 "Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Mother & I were discussing our nonbelieving family members today. Her younger great-granddaughter has begun going to Preschool at a UMC.  Mother was relieved, b/c she said it was hard for an adult to accept the truth of the Bible if they were not exposed to it as a child.

This is a new way to view this text.  Is it harder for an adult to accept faith than a child?  Of course it is. Children are so willing to believe.  When someone reaches adulthood without ever feeling that faith in God, is it harder for them to be saved?  That makes sense.

Prayer:  God, I pray for those who have lived to adulthood without the gift of faith.  I pray that their eyes can be opened; that they can accept Your gift of faith as a child would, even though their childhood has passed without it.  I praise You for my gift of faith, and for those who understand it b/c they too have received it.  I look forward to the day when I join You in your kingdom with all the other believers.
Amen
